Adored by all, Margaret Annabel Joy Brandt (Homer), 90, has passed away peacefully in her sleep at Extendicare in Kirkland Lake, ON on June12th, 2023.

Joy was born in Mara Township, ON to Lillian Irene Homer (McQueen) and George Homer from Orillia, ON on April 11, 1933. She was the head cashier at Dominion grocery store in Toronto for 10 years after which she became a florist. Joy and husband Don owned Brandt Flowers in Huntsville, ON. She and husband Don were very active within the community of Huntsville, even sponsoring and keeping alive the girls hockey team the Huntsville Honeys in the 70-80s.

Joy is survived by her youngest son, Darren Brandt (Ashley-Anne) of Kirkland Lake, ON, Grandsons Luke Johnson, Ethan Brandt, Jesse Brandt and Lucas Lamarche, Granddaughters Danielle Bragg and Michelle Clack (Paul), Great Grandson Tristen Clack, Great Granddaughters Betheny Bragg, Maria Defalco and Hayden Defalco. Joy is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins that have looked up to her for generations.

Joy has been called home to be with her husband Don, 2 sons Kim and Steve Johnson, granddaughter Yolonde and her parents and siblings.

Joy not only raised her 3 sons but also many others and never turned anyone away. She was a very loving and kind woman and was always willing to offer a hand or an ear.

Joy spent her last 15 years in Kirkland Lake, ON
