LANG, Louis

1947 - 2021

Passed away as a result of esophagus cancer on November 13th at the Gatineau hospital. Louis was 74.
Louis lived in Aylmer, Quebec for the last 40 years and worked at Canada Post until he retired in 2013. Amongst his many achievements and contributions, he was a member of the National Executive of the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada and a Lifetime Member of the Ottawa Local of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers.
Louis is survived by his sons, Nick (Mélanie Beaudry), Philippe-Michel and Yannick; former wife Danielle Désormeaux; sister Julie Lang Lapeer (Leonard Lapeer) and niece Lindsay; grandchildren Gabriel Aleksandor, Kayla, Néomie and Alexa-Rose and grandnephew Jesse Lajeunesse and many comrades, union sisters and brothers and friends from Canada and abroad. Louis was pre-deceased by his father Sandor Lang and mother Rozsa W. Lang,
A memorial meeting will be held on december 5, at 1 p.m. at 1170 Chemin d'Aylmer, Gatineau, Quebec J9H 7L3 at Hotel Doubletree by Hilton. In lieu of flowers the family welcomes donations to a cause of your choice. Condolences to the family can be sent to www.cfo.coop.

Louis Lang

louis was a great union leader. he was responsible for the largest over time grievance cash settlement in the history of canada post. as president of the CUPW ottawa local, louis was the best strike organizer that the ottawa local ever had.
louis also helped me with my successful campaign for city council here in orleans and we were life time political confidants. motorcycle partners in our earlier days, i worked with louis throughout my career at canada post and i knew him for 46 years.

The Lang Family

Please accept my and my son Eric’s sincere sadness at the loss of your dad. He was extremely intelligent and I enjoyed talking with him whenever we met. Louis was an exceptional goaltender especially during the years I played against him in the Aylmer 30+ Hockey League. The 30+ Hockey League was also an Aylmer Service Club benefiting the underprivileged and Louis was always available to support the fund raising activities of the organization. He was very proud of his sons and cared very much about their lives. You boys had a great dad and you should hold him proudly in your hearts. Louis Rest In Peace. Your forever friend Peter.
