It is with a profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear sister Lorraine in the Gatineau Hospital following a brief battle with cancer. She was the eldest child of the late David Fortier and the late Lorna Cameron. Lorraine, born in Ottawa, Ontario and moved at a very young age to Gatineau, Québec where the family took up residence.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Maurice Theriault and is survived by her brother Gerald (the late Gisèle Berthiaume), Connie, Joanne (the late Enrico Morin), Donna (Jerome Marcotte) and Sharon. She loved and doted upon nephews and nieces Tracey, Tammy, Chantal, Michel, Adam, Erin, Emily, Meghan and Melanie. She will also be missed by the remaining family members of the Fortier and Theriault families, as well as by friends and acquaintances at Cité Jardins, Tour 5, where she resided for the past nine years.
Lorraine enjoyed interacting with people and had many close, valued friends over the years. Although she never had any children, her cats (and there were many) meant everything to her.
The funeral service for Lorraine will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 2 p.m. at La Coopérative funéraire de l’Outaouais, 1369 La Vérendrye Boulevard West in Gatineau.
