Kim Campillo-Acosta

1992-2022

Kim Campillo-Acosta passed away on September 1, 2022 in Ottawa, ON at the age of 30, after a year-long battle with metastatic cancer. Kim will be greatly missed by her son Alonzo, her mother Leticia Acosta, her father Pedro Campillo, and her siblings Ixchel, Allan and Brenda.

Kim was known for her quick wit, her sense of humor and her unconditional support. She faced her illness with remarkable courage and clung to life with an intense will, treating every new day like a gift. Kim taught us a big lesson – life may be unpredictable, and we can choose to let negative events weaken us or make us stronger, better people.

Our family is grateful to all our friends and family, and to Kim's friends in her native Mexico and here, for their relentless support in the last 12 months. We know that we will miss Kim's physical presence, but will always remember her on all the important days in our lives, and on all the regular days too.

A visitation hour will be held on Sep. 9, 2022 at 11:00 am, followed by a ceremony at 12:00 pm, at the Funeral Co-operative of Ottawa (419 St. Laurent Blvd ). In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO).
