We came to know Karl in 1978 when we were operating the Y Restaurant right beside the old OPP station. Karl stopped by almost everyday. He liked to joke around. With his British accent, making his joke more funny. Karl was a family man. He was proud of his children. May his love warm your heart today and all the days to come. My deepest condolences to all.

A sad loss indeed but a legacy of memories endure. Karol may have been an Enigma, a Tour de Force but above all a Magician. Never did work out how he made a whole bottle of Glenfiddich Whisky disappear when we, together with Sheree, celebrated the new millenium with a summer street party - happy times. Karol embraced the internet revolution and in the early days could lock up my computer for days trying to download the largest picture file imaginable that he would send me.
Impossible to forget his sense of pride, happiness and love at your wedding Kirsten.
Guess they really did ‘break the mould’ when they made him!
Keep him in your heart. ♥️ from the UK.

Duncan, I’m sorry about your Dad’s passing. Please let all of the good memories keep you. At times like this, words are just words. But I’m reminded of the times your Dad & mine were reminiscing about antics they pulled at The Bridge Inn in Kenog, back in the early ‘80’s. It’s amazing they both weren’t thrown in the slammer! I’d like to think they’re both causing a ruckus again, together, where ever they are. Duncan, you & I have known each other forever; my heart is with you & your family. Take care ok?

I am so sorry for your loss. I have only just heard that my 'Old Bro' has passed on and I am shaken by it. He was an extraordinary man, although I was only to visit his life in Canada once he used to keep me up to date with everything, ice fishing, battling with the beavers, cutting down trees, using his snow blowers etc., I enjoyed being taken out by you Tristan (as I had no bear sense, not allowed out on my own). A very different world to his life in dance, yes a ballet dancer! A speed skater and best for me, as I could go along as navigator, rallying in his Mini Cooper S. I will miss him very much but I hope he is having adventures still wherever he is. A promise, I will continue with the research begun on our family that we had talked about.

I came across Karl's obituary today, and am saddened by his passing. I was a very young policeman when in 1971, our paths crossed at Hampstead Police in London. He became my friend. A lifetime ago now, he brightened my life. Thank you.

Condolences to the family in Ses. We got to know Karl when we lived on KL. Glad he was able to visit us after we moved to Thunder Bay.
Came across the obit today after trying to phone him several times over the last few years.
