June Newton Thornloe resident June Newton died at the Temiskaming Hospital on January 12, 2010. Mrs. Newton, who worked as a supervisor at the Husky, is survived by her husband Manley "Lucky" Newton whom she married on June 2, 1962. She is also survived by her children Marlene, Brent and Darren; parents Ray and Annie Peddie; seven sisters, two brothers, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral was arranged by Perrin Funeral Chapel in New Liskeard with the service conducted by Reverend Micol Cottrell at St. Paul's United Church on January 16. Friends and family gathered at the Harley Hall after the service. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Tri-Town Branch of the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
