John William Fry
May 11, 1947 – February 2, 2022

John passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital on February 2, 2022, at the age of 74.

Following in his father’s footsteps, he worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Merck for over 30 years before retiring at age 55.

He enjoyed summers at the cottage, by the water with good music, great friends, and family. He had a passion for photography, computers and taking drives down long winding roads.

He will be remembered for his unique sense of humor and witty remarks.

John will be greatly missed by his daughter Alison (Emily), his many lifelong friends, and family in North Bay, Montreal, and the United States.

There will be no funeral at this time. A celebration of life will be held later this year when friends and family can be together.

Oh Alison. I am so sorry to hear of your dads passing. He was part of a large chapter in my early life. They were lovely years at the cottage and your dad was so suave and cool at the same time. He loved the parties at the marina. I remember him coming home from them to very disapproving parents…but hey, isn’t that part of life, too. We had some great times when we were older and Dan and I were still visiting the lake.
Covid has left us without our usual traditions and celebrations, but please think to include us in those special moments, if you plan to share them, down the road. Hugs for now, Sylvia

Alison, I send warm hugs your way, so sorry to hear this. John was a wonderful neighbor and friend. We spent many afternoons on the deck enjoying a scotch or two! John loved the cottage and the lake, sitting outside by the fire with the music on. Where ever you are John, I know that it is a better place and with hope we meet again someday.
