John Robert Dorans

1965 - 2025

It is with profound sadness that the family of John Dorans announce his passing on March 15, 2025 after a lengthy illness. John passed peacefully in his sleep at the Ottawa General Hospital after listening to tunes and having DQ, he was 59 years of age. John was a beloved and loving son (his father, the late Alistair Dorans), brother, father, cousin and friend to many. He is survived by his mother, Ann (Franklyn and extended family), his 3 brothers – (Niece and Nephews), Dan (Samantha), Jim (Wyatt & Jaxon) & Dave (Emmett) (Martha, Charlotte & Spencer). He will also be missed by his many friends and extended families.

John lived life to the fullest always forsaking himself for others, was extremely intelligent, generous, outgoing, hard working, athletic, kind, giving, and a risk taker with a heart of gold.

John was a Canadian Forces Military Veteran, with the 2nd Field Ambulance Airborne Regiment based out of Petawawa, held various roles in the pharmacy & semi-conductor medical sector with i-Stat (Abbott),  a Robotics Technician with MRSI, printing typesetter, a Carpenter (like his Great Grandfather & Grandfather), and Site Project Manager with all of his later roles keeping him in the Ottawa Region.

We will be announcing an upcoming “A Celebration of Life” that will be held for John at a later date for Family and friends to pay their respects.  John will thereafter be laid to rest in a private ceremony at a later date.

In lieu of flowers please feel free to make donations to the liver and or kidney foundations in John’s name.

We are sad to lose John as a neighbour. He was always eager for a chat and to assist in any way he could. Our condolences to his family.
