Irving, Joanne

IRVING, Joanne

1958 - 2024

On April 1st 2024 one of this world’s strongest warriors was allotted her time to rest.

Joanne Irving, beloved daughter of the late Leslie and late Madeline Irving, sister of Gail, Mary-Lou, Linda, Wendy, Dawn and Lisa, passed away surrounded by family.

Joanne did not particularly care for cut flowers, though she did love red begonias, Cheez Whiz, country music, the Young and the Restless, her friends, caring for others, her family, spaghetti and her animals.

Thus, in lieu of flowers please do as she had spent many years doing; reach out and help someone in need, someone who is tired, or weary or sick or elderly.

In her memory, please tell those you love that you love them, those you have not spoken to but thought about that you are thinking of them, or simply bake a batch of muffins for your workplace, pet your cat, and tell someone near you who is in need hello.

Joanne, her sarcastic wit, fighting spirit, generosity and kindheartedness will be dearly missed by her sisters, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Donations in her honor may be made to the Riverview Cemetery in Scotstown, the Canadian Cancer Society, the care facility of your choice or the SPCA.

Visitation will be held at the Cass Funeral Home 3006 College St, Sherbrooke (Lennoxville) on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and a celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 11th at 11:00 a.m. at the Cass Funeral Home. The interment will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the Riverview Cemetery Scotstown.

Though I had not seen Joanne for quite a few years, I will always hold special memories of our friendship from years ago in Scotstown. I can still hear her laugh. May she rest in peace while giving you all strength and courage to get through this huge loss.

The Family

I not only had the privilege of working with Joanne, but I also had the blessing of her friendship. She touched many lives and hearts in numerous ways. She worked as a caregiver in an attentive manner and will be remembered by her co-workers because of her support and encouragement. Her friendship, I shall always cherish. Rest in peace Jo, we love and miss you . Bev

To the family

I had the chance to work with Joanne at Manoir de l’Eau Vive. She was fun to work with and she loved when I sang her special request from Ronnie Milsap : Kiss an angel good morning!
My deepest sympathies to you all and she will be missed!
