Wilson, Jimmy

WILSON, Jimmy

1959 - 2024

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Jim after a very brief illness.

Jim passed away peacefully January 17th at blanche river health (Kirkland Lake site) with his loving family by his side.

Predeceased by his two sons Tyler (infant) and Matthew, by his parents Percy and Marion Wilson, brothers Bob Wilson, Percy Wilson and sister Wendy Wilson. Father and mother in law Eric and Fern brook and by his brother in laws John MacKinnon and Serge Lefebvre.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Kathy Wilson, his brother Ronald Wilson, brother in laws Timothy Brook (Randy) and David brook. His sister in laws Sharon MacKinnon, Julie (Bill) Foss and Donna Wilson.

He leaves to mourn his nieces and nephews Gabrielle (Paul), Daniel (Tasha), Courtney (Scott), Amanda (Marc),  Brandon St-Cyr (Jordane), Cynthia, Josh, Steven, Trevor, Bobby Jr. and Crystal. He also leaves behind many great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew, his little buddy Jaeger.

Jim was born and raised in Kirkland Lake. He and his wife met as teenagers, and they have never left each other’s side until now. Jim spent most of his life working for local sawmills in the area driving heavy equipment with his most recent employment being with KL Forrest products. He loved his job and his work family and took pride in caring for “his” loader. He worked up until just a few weeks leading to his passing. He valued family and friendships, any kid that came through the door he considered one of his own.

There were many BBQ’s, pool parties, karaoke parties and their home was the “hub” for everyone to gather and spend time together. You always felt welcomed at their place.

He and Kathy enjoyed taking their nephew Nicholas and Niece Jillian on trips where he would always assure their parents “Don’t worry, we didn’t spoil them”. This was never true, in fact, he always spoiled every kid that walked through their doors. That was who he was. His amazing sense of humour and caring personality was something his family always admired and took this as a lesson in life on how to be as adults. His sarcasm and antics will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors on the 4th floor and ICU at Blanche River health for their care and compassion during Jim’s short hospital stays.

Interment to follow in the spring.

Such a tragedy to lose your partner so early in your lives, but one never knows when your time on earth runs out. Find peace in knowing that he is with his children and that other family has welcomed him home, until you can be reunited. RIP Jim
