It is with deepest sympathies we announce the sudden passing of

Jeanne Désormeaux (nee Arseneault)

Jeanne passed away on March 9, 2019 at the age of 93 in Gatineau, Québec.

Despite lifelong crippling arthritis and the loss of two of her three children during her lifetime, she led a generous and courageous life, and was the most grateful of people, an inspiration to those who knew and loved her.

Jeanne was the youngest and last remaining of the 9 ambitious, and patriotic Upper Charlo, New Brunswick children of Alexandre (Sandy) Arseneault and Elizabeth McIntyre.

She was the beloved wife of the late Marcel Desormeaux for over 59 years, dearest mother to Marc, Anne (Denis Dufour) and Jean (Anne McLernan), loving grandmother to Catherine (Toni Choueiri), David (Linda Corsius), Marc, Paul and Thomas and great-grandmother to Felix, Lucas, Mila, Malaika and a very soon to be born fifth great-grandchild.

A celebration of Jeanne’s life will be held at the COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE DE L’OUTAOUAIS, 95 Cité-des-Jeunes blvd. in Gatineau (Hull sector), on March 14th, 2019, at 2 p.m. The familly will be receiving condolences at 1:30 p.m.

The familly would like to thank especially the caregivers at Les Residences La Gappe who took good care of Jeanne and helped making her remaining years very meaningful.

Toute la famille Désormeaux

Je voulais juste vous écrire un petit mot pour vous dire combien j’ai aimé Mme Désormeaux, j’admirais son courage, sa résilience. À chaque fois que j’allais la voir à sa résidence, elle m’accueillait chaleureusement, toujours avec un beau sourire, j’aimais elle ne se plaignait. Je suis heureuse de l’avoir vue peu de temps avant son décès, j’ai pu la serrer dans mes bras et lui dire combien je l’aimais.

Je sais qu’il n’est pas facile de perdre un être cher, elle n’avait que des beaux mots à dire sur sa famille.
