Hannah, James "Jim"

HANNAH, James "Jim"

1939 - 2022

It is with the deepest sadness the family announces the passing of James (Jim) Hannah, 82 on April 20, 2022, at 5:55 pm at Blanche River Health Kirkland Lake Site.

Jim was born on September 5, 1939, in Englehart spending most of his childhood in Otto Township.  He has been a lifelong resident of Kirkland Lake.  He spent his life enjoying the outdoors, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He worked for the Mayflower, in lumber mills, hauled lumber, and drove every piece of large heavy equipment made.  He also worked as a janitor at King George Public School for many years and then returned to truck driving once again. Jim had a kind heart and enjoyed helping everyone. He was well known by all and for telling jokes. Everyone who knew him would always be cracked up with laughter.  It was very seldom that you would find him miserable. He was always a happy person, smiling and caring. He loved and cared for everyone. He lived a full loving life with his 2 wives and 8 children. Jim left an impact on everyone he met. He met both of his ex-wives at the same sawmill. Haha.

Predeceased by his parents Andrew Hannah and Matilda Hannah, brothers Steve Hannah and Art Hannah, his grandson Adam Pearce and ex-wife Rita Manseau.

Survived by his siblings Susan Perry (Carson), Anna Witty (Ross), sister-in-law Jacquey  Hannah, Robert Hannah (Darlene), Kathleen McKinney (Dave), Bruce Hannah (Anna), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Loved by his children Brenda Pearce (Derrick), Judy Hannah (Rick Ross), Rose Hannah, Christine Hannah (Shane), Michael Hannah (Cathy), Johanne Hannah, Billy Hannah (Abby), and Nicole Hannah (Kenneth).

Sadly missed by his grandchildren Mark Pearce (Leah), Taylor Tennant, Brianna Tennant, Adrian Hannah, Kaylee Hannah, Meleena Hannah, Jaydin Hannah, Isabelle Hannah, Joey Arsenault, Melanie Hamel, Cassandra Hannah, Jessica Cooper, and Edward Cooper. And his great-grandchildren Theo Pearce, Colton Tennant, Greyson Tennant, Damien Hannah, Rebekah Hannah, Elijah Hannah, Georgie Cooper, and Harold Cooper.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. In keeping with Jim’s wishes cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held in July.

My sibilings and family

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be
So he put his arms around you and whispered come with me Jim
With tearful eyes we watched him suffer, and saw him slowly fade away.
Although we love you dearly dad we could not let you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating ,hard working hands put to rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best

I love you Dad may you now rest

Joanne, Brenda and the family

I had the pleasure of meeting Jim and taking care of him (well he was pretty independent so we didn't have to do much) He loved his coffee, choclate ice cream and just chatting. Jim was always smiling and we just became good friends, he use to call me his Barbie...lol I told him he was blind! After I retired we continued to talk on the phone and he told me he liked the nursing home but missed the hospital and the great nurses and PSW's Jim kept trying to get me to take him on a road trip. Wish I would have! RIP my friend I will remember you always! My deepest sympathy to the family!

to the Hannah family:

Sorry for everyone's loss and because I could not make it back to say my goodbyes you all did it for me. I so appreciated all the time everyone of you spend with him these last few years, he knew he was a special man and a funny one. I never saw him mad, always a smile and always helping someone in need, he would have given the shirt off his back for his family, friends and the friends he made daily . You will always be in my memories, keep the ladies guessing up their like you did here on earth. Love you Jim. your baby sister kathy

Hannah Family

I grew up with Jim's kids. I'm blessed too have them as part of my family. We have so many memories of Jim. When my mom and his wife Rita would hang out together and go visiting. I really miss those days.

They live on in your memories. They live on in stories you tell your children. So proud of you Mike as I am sure he would be.

My family

Dad,
It's been the hardest thing to lose you
You meant so much to me
But you are in my heart Dad
And that's where you'll always be
I know that Heaven called you
But I wish you could have stayed
At least the memories I have of you
They will never fade
I did not want to lose you
But you did not go alone
Because a part of me went with you
When Heaven called you home
So just remember one thing
We are not apart
You're with me in my memories
And in my broken heart.
I love you dad
Love your baby girl
