Henri Conrad Savard

March 25, 1938 - October 26, 2024

Henri Savard died peacefully surrounded by his family on October 26, 2024, at the age of 86. He was the dear husband of the late Anna Savard (Young) and a loving father to Denise Savard (Frank Medewar) and Michael Savard (Caroline Boucher), a wonderful grandfather to Leah (Ian), Thomas (Andrea), and Benjamin (Courtney), Frank and Nick (Emilie). He took great joy in his role as a great-grandfather to Ellis, Jude, Arielle, Kaylie, Brooke, Nicholas, and Nathan.

Henri was predeceased by his brothers, Robert (Mimi), André (Grace), Maurice (Linda), and his sisters Jeannine (late Armand), Lise (late Gilles), and Helene. He leaves behind his beloved sisters, Irene (late Pierre), Suzanne, and brothers Guy (late Jean), Marcel (late Dorothy), and Richard.

Son of Laurent Savard and Leona Ouellette, Henri grew up in Lucerne, Quebec, where he learned the value of hard work and determination. An exceptional hockey player, he passionately played up to four games per week until his late 60s, embodying the spirit of competition and teamwork.

Henri’s energy for anything he undertook was contagious. Always willing to lend a helping hand, his smile and joking nature made him a unique man who found humour in every situation. His infectious "joie de vivre" will leave an enduring mark on all who knew him.

A mass in honour of Henri will be held on November 22, 2024 at 11 am at St-Mark Church located at 160 Principale Street, Gatineau, Quebec. The family will be available to receive condolences as of 10:15 am

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, reflecting Henri's generous spirit and love for community.

Henri’s legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

"Chers cousin Michael/ cousine Denise et votre famille que nous n'avons pas eu le plaisir de connaître. C'est au nom de ma famille, celle de sa grande soeur Jeannine. Nous vous offrons nos condoléances.
Lorsque j'ai appris le décès d'oncle Henri, plein d'images ont surgies dans ma mémoire. Il a habité ma jeunesse. Je revois un homme chaleureux, heureux d'accueillir et de communiquer. Heureux d'aider et de partager ses connaissances. Le contact était simple avec lui. Ses yeux remplis de lumière rieuse reflétait son coeur,son rire était contagieux. En fait je l'aimais beaucoup, nous l'aimions beaucoup.
Comme les grandes familles se ramifient au fil des générations nous n'avons pas eu l'opportunité de nous revoir régulièrement. Mais encore maintenant malgré les années qui ont passées, quand je pense à lui un grand sourire m'envahit. Comme vous le dites si bien dans votre texte, il a laissé des traces ... des empreintes qui nourissent et qui guident. Famille d'Henri et mes cousins et cousines

J'aurais aimé être avec vous pour célébrer la vie d'Henri dont je garde le meilleur des souvenirs. Il a entretenu ma voiture jusqu'à ce que je quitte l'Outaouais et c'était l'occasion de me mettre à jour sur nos autres cousins et cousines, ses frères et soeurs. Son sourire et son sens de l'humour sont des souvenirs de moments précieux.
