MERRITT, Hélène

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the tragic death of HÉLÈNE MERRITT age 55, beloved daughter of the late Richard (Dick) Merritt and Thérèse Labelle (Alberto Rousseau) and sisters Joanne, Louise (Marc Cholette) and brother Mike Merritt and loving aunt to Justin and Lisanne Cholette and Nicole Merritt. She also leaves behind aunts, uncles and cousins with whom she loved to visit. Hélène was a gentle soul who enjoyed the company of her work colleagues and many friends, including her cherished four legged ones. She always had a kind word and a smile to share and helped as many people as she could. She was an avid reader and a great story teller and will be missed by her many patrons, young and older at the Sunnyside Branch of the Ottawa Library. She was a generous supporter of many charities and cultural organizations. A funeral service will be held on Thursday December 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Coopérative funéraire de l'Outaouais located at 95, Cité-des-Jeunes Blvd. in Gatineau (Hull Sector). Family will receive condolences at 9:30 a.m. The family wishes to thank Constables Woods, Houle, Desjourdy and Sergeant Niemi of the Ottawa Police for their compassionate assistance. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Ottawa Humane Society would be appreciated. Condolences can be sent via : www.cfo.coop .
