Bourque, Gracia (née Mazerolle)
Peacefully at the Hull Hospital, on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at the age of 76 with her loving family by her side. Gracia (Grace) was predeceased by her husband Jean-Maurice Bourque and parents Jeannine Poirier and Edouard Mazerolle. She is survived by her children André (Cindy), Jean-Pierre (Hélène) and Michelle (Frank) as well as grandchildren Matthew, Jasmine, Megan, Catherine and Jeremy. She is also mourned by her brother Donald (Joanne) and sisters Pauline, Francine (Paul), Bernice (Don) and Suzanne (Tim), as well as a large extended family and many friends.
Gracia was born in Moncton, New Brunswick in 1944. She, Maurice and toddler André moved to Ottawa in 1970 for Maurice to accept a position with the Canadian Teachers Federation. After spending their first few years in Ottawa and welcoming twins Michelle and Jean-Pierre, they moved to Aylmer, Quebec, to raise their family. Once the children were older, Gracia accepted new challenges and volunteered at the Aylmer Public Library, eventually being hired on as staff until her retirement. Gracia and Maurice enjoyed their lives together, spending many wonderful summers at the family cottage in New Brunswick surrounded by the extended families, as well as many trips to the United States and beyond. She was an amazing woman who touched everyone she met with her warm and compassionate personality and will be dearly missed by all.
In order to comply with health authorities regarding COVID-19, only personally invited guests by the family will be able to attend the funeral service. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Hull Hospital for their excellent care and compassion.

So sad to hear this news. To all, please accept my sincere sympathy. Grace and I met in grade 1 and remained friends all these years. She truly had a warm and compassionate personality and I loved her dearly. I will be with all of you as I watch the live webcast.

Mes très sincères condoléances à toute la famille. J'ai travaillé à la bibliothèque municipale d'Aylmer quand Grace y était et j'étais au secondaire à Grande-Rivière avec André. Ma mère, Madeleine Claros, travaillait aussi à la bibliothèque et est devenu une bonne amie de Grace. J'ai de beaux souvenirs de Grace, elle était tellement gaie et chaleureuse.
Je pense à vous tous en ces temps difficiles. Bon courage.

Our deepest condolences to André, Jean-Pierre, Michelle* and their families on the loss of their dear mother and grandmother.
Our friendship goes back many, many decades. So many special celebrations like Christmas and holidays, etc... Then there were birthdays, Grace and I shared the same birthday date and I called her my "younger twin sister". She and Maurice were always available to help when needed, (especially at moving times)!
Now the suffering is over and we can rejoice that Grace is gone to her Lord and Savior and her beloved Maurice.
Rest in Peace dear Grace. You will be missed.

So sad to hear of your Mom’s passing! She and Maurice were such a youthful, energetic and warm couple. We were happy to have had them as part of our extended family for all these years. The service today was very moving and we were glad to be able to join remotely and be with you in spirit. Ce fut un privilège pour nous tous d'avoir connu Grace au cours de notre vie. Elle et Maurice ont fait partie de notre vie familiale et nous en sommes très heureux d'avoir eu cette chance. Nous avons partagé tellement de beaux moments ensemble.
Grace était une femme totalement radieuse, toujours à l'écoute des autres, d'une bonne humeur contagieuse, qui avait les mots justes pour nous réconforter lorsque nécessaire. En gros, ce fut une immense joie d'avoir pu partager notre vie avec elle. Son amitié va nous manquer à tous!
