WINTLE, Gilbert

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gilbert Sydney Wintle on Saturday March 20, 2010 at the age of 86. Son of the late Ella and the late Sydney Wintle and beloved husband and best friend of Serena MacLeod. Dear father of Melanie (Jim Leonard), Gayle (Scott Hayward), late Kenneth, George, Lesley (Jim Brock) and Kevin (Tara Kydd). Cherished grandfather of Sarah and David Leonard, Brock and Kelsey Donald, James and Jonathan Townsend, Andrew and Rachael Brock and Callum and Iain Wintle. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters Bernard (Mary), Irene (Allan Matheson), Alice (late Galen Vance), Ansel (Marjorie), Ernest (late Phyllis), Gerald (late Betty), Norman (Barbara) and Edward (Phyllis). Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College St., Sherbrooke, 819-564-1750 / www.casshomes.ca where friends may call on Tuesday March 23, 2010 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm and on Wednesday March 24 at the St-Paul's Anglican Church, Bury from 1 to 2 pm followed by the funeral service at 2 pm. Rev. Barbara Wintle officiating. Interment in the Lingwick Cemetery, Gould, QC at a later date. As memorial tributes, donations to the Cancer Research Society, 402 - 625 av.
