MONGEAU, Gilbert Gaston

1931 - 2024

We are saddened to announce the passing of Mr. Gilbert Gaston Mongeau at the Magog Hospital, on October 17, 2024, at the age of 93. Dear husband of 69 years of Waneta Walker, formerly from Stanstead. He was the son of the late Albert Mongeau and the late Florence Paquette. 

Gaston leaves behind his children Linda and Daniel (Caroline), his grandchildren Madeleine, Michel, Sarah and Molly. He also leaves his sisters Aline (late Réal), Fernande (late Adrien) and his sister-in-law Caroline (late Glen) and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by his sisters and brothers Réalita (late Amédée), Claire, Gilberte (late Armand), Laurent (late Peggy) and Valdor (late Denise); also, his sister-in-law Wanda (late Jim) and brother-in-law Walter (Ann). 

Visitation will take place at the Cass Funeral Home, 545 Dufferin, Stanstead, Qc, J0B 3E0 on October 26, 2024, from 2 to 4 pm. 

A private internment will take place at a later date. 

The family would like to thank the staff of the Magog Hospital, the CLSC Memphremagog, especially Josiane St-Cyr. A big thank you to Kim Crook for the wonderful care she provided to Gaston. 

Donations to the Alzheimer Society, 740 rue Galt Ouest, Sherbrooke, Qc, J1H 1Z2 would be appreciated.

Waneta et les enfants.

Mes sympathies Waneta, ton Gaston est rendu dans la Paix après une si longue maladie. Il est parti rejoindre mon Rosaire, ils vont jouer au pools ensemble!
Tu vas avoir enfin le temps de te REPOSER et prendre du bon temps pour Toi.
