Gerda Marie Marguerite Hounsounou (nee Paul-Roc)

Courageously, after 17yrs of fighting Diabetes, Schizophrenia and Cancer, Gerda passed away 17yrs to the day of diagnosis on January 24, 2017 in the arms of her beloved husband and father of her children, Pierre Hounsounou. Gerda leaves behind her loving daughters Peggy, Cindy, Judith and Josianne, Grandchildren Mathieu (deceased), Maxime and Melissa Paquette, Gabriella West and great-grandchildren Dimitry and Jade Paquette. She will also be remembered by her niece Jenna Tossou. Gerda was a woman of strong faith, courage, determination. She was always loving and had a wonderful sense of humor. Even through all the hardships, she always looked her absolute best.Those she leaves behind will miss her greatly and she will forever be in their hearts. Family will receive condolences on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the St. Francis D'Assise Church, 20 Fairmont Avenue, Ottawa from 10am until time of the Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial is to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 2757 St. Joseph Blvd, Orleans. Reception to take place at the Peter D. Clark Place, 255 Centrum Blvd, Orleans in the Gallery Room located on the second floor.
