Gerald Andrew Proulx
1947-2019
At home after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, December 16, 2019, at the age of 72. Beloved husband of Gail (Weatherdon), loving step-father of Marc Philippe (Genevieve Thibault), cherished grand-father of Kiera and Jack Philippe. Dear Son of Edna (nee Boucher) and the late Omer Proulx, and brother of Louise Normand, Monique Beaudoin (Claude) and Lorraine Proulx. Brother-in-law's Larry Weatherdon (Diane) and Colin Weatherdon. Gerry will also be missed by several Nieces and Nephews. Many friends in Canada and USA along with Members of the AA family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 30th at 11:00 am at The Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 632), 800 Taylor Creek Drive, Orleans. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Autism Canada for the Music Therapy program for children.
We offer our deepest sympathies to you and your family Gail, may Gerry rest in peace and may he watch over you and give you and all family members the strength to get through this difficult time. Gerry was a generous man in so many ways, particularly by offering enjoyment to all music lovers and brought great joy to all who had the pleasure of being entertained by him....RIP Gerry and keep those guitar strings a strumming

Gail, Gerry was one of the kindest and most gentleman Dwayne and I had ever known. We loved our visits with all of you but we will miss Gerry's quick whit and his positive outlook on life! Even when he was not feeling well, he put the needs of others ahead of his own comfort and he will always be remembered in our heart for all of those that he has held out a helping hand too. So very glad to know that he was where he wanted to be and you were by his side. He loved life and he loved you and all of his extended family. He will be missed bu never forgotten.
Donna and I were sad to here of Gerry's passing. He was a delightful man to be around and full of energy when we would meet him. Gerry was a very strong man and fought it to the end with you at his side. I'm sure that gave him strength and comfort that he needed.

Gerry was already greatly missed in Okeechobee AA. He helped so many with his message of hope. He always had his hand out to the new comer and made them feel welcome. He was/is a great person whom left his spirit with us to carry on as we will when we share. My friend Gerry used to say....... Never will he be forgotten. Love and hugs. Gail J.

Losing a brother ... there are no words that I can express how hard this is for you and your families. Please know that he loved each of you so much. His wish for you all was to be happy, love each other and live life to the end. His final wish was to ask his sisters to take care of Mom! My deepest condolences to my sister-in-laws and families.

My heart goes out to you with the loss of Gerry. He was a wonderful man, and you both have fought a long and exhausting battle. So, take care of yourself, Gail. We all know that Gerry is entertaining the angels with "Lady" and his guitar strumming. I remember fondly those days long ago at the Baskatong lodge where Gerry led the group in singalongs in front of the bonfire. My prayers for peace extend to both of you.

Lorraine many moons have set since the last time I saw you and Gerry and Gail. Your brother was a mentor to me at work and with anything else going on in my life.
