1946 - 2025
With great sorrow, the daughters of Garry John Patrick Hodgins announce his passing on Friday, January 24,2025. Surrounded by his large and loving family, Garry passed peacefully after a brief illness.
Predeceased by his devoted wife, Linda (Welch) and his parents Pat and Fred Hodgins.
Left to forever miss his tall tales are his daughters; Jennifer Hodgins and Stacy (Terry) Wight, grandchildren; Paige, Patrick, Andrew and Destiny Hodgins, Deseah (Stephen) and Garrett Wight, great grandchildren; Logan, Skye, Khaza, and Linda Hodgins as well as his dear 10 brothers and sisters who surrounded him with love and prayers.
Garry was very proud of the years he spent as an Ambulance Attendant/Orderly at the Kirkland and District Hospital and is well remembered by the nurses he assisted all those years ago. While working at Macassa Mines #3 Shaft, he used this background as the First Aid/CPR instructor.
As an avid outdoorsman, he was known for taking long walks in the bush with his GPS, tinkering with his argos and especially his fondness for blueberry picking.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at the King Kirkland Rec Centre from 2:30-5:30 with a private family burial in the spring.
May he spend eternity finding the next big fish. - Love you More-

Please accept my condolences on the loss of your dad. Garry was one of the good guys always friendly and kind. We lived across the street when you were little kids and after we left Kirkland Lake, we came back to visit and often stopped to have a visit with your mom and dad. We haven’t been up to Kirkland Lake too much lately because most of the people we visited are not there anymore and now there’s one more. I will always be grateful to your mom and dad for keeping an eye on our dad when we weren’t there to do it. I will miss both of them.

We are very sorry to have received the news regarding Gary. I knew Gary well from his days at KLCVI, playing football , his time at the Hospital and his involvement in KL.
