FRANÇOISE (CHOUINARD) FOSTER

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Françoise Foster, nee Chouinard, on January 23, 2025, at the age of 87.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Glen. Françoise will be sadly missed by her children David (Lise), Jo-Ann (Dale), and her son-in law Ted. She will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.  She was predeceased by her parents Marie-Rose Duval and Honorius Chouinard, and by her daughter Michèle.

Françoise was born in Sainte-Perpétue de L’Islet and spent most of her life in Rouyn-Noranda. With Glen, she would travel between home and the cottage, and to Florida once they retired. Fran enjoyed playing both curling and golf and loved to fish and cruise around on her pontoon boat. Later, they moved to Gatineau to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

Fran would capture your heart the moment you met her. Her beautiful smile and her great sense of humour and wit will live on in the many memories she has left us.

A Celebration of her life will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the Coopérative funéraire de l'Outaouais, 750, Maloney E. Boulevard, Gatineau (Lac-Beauchamp Pavilion).  The family will receive condolences as of 1:15 p.m. It will be possible to view the celebration online either live or at a later time via https://commemora.tv/er/diffusions/102609

The family would like to thank the personnel at the Gatineau Hospital for the good care received.

Donations in Françoise’s name to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Christiane
