Nos plus sincères condoléances pour cette immence perte. Recois l`expression de notre sympathie la plus profonde en ce moment dès plus difficile.
Peacefully and surrounded by family, Francine Labrosse-Scott, age 73 years, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023.
Beloved wife of Denis Scott and formerly of Robin Conway. Loving mother of Dominique Conway (Tim Given), Rebecca Conway (Jongbae Kim) and Jonathan Conway. Loving stepmother of Jason Scott (Ivana Novakovic). Adoring grandmother of Christina, Nathaniel, Julia, Leah, Logan, Wyatt, Damian and Lana and great grandmother of Noah. Predeceased by her parents Louis and Gabrielle (née Saint-Denis) Labrosse. Dear sister of Bernard Labrosse (Diane Lemieux), Marie Labrosse (Guy Mayer), John Labrosse (Denise Mongeon), Josée Labrosse (Joseph Pliva) and the late Paul Labrosse.
Francine was born and raised in Ottawa and made her first home in Merrickville, before returning to Ottawa. She held a lifelong passion for teaching, inspiring young minds for many years at Robert Hopkins Elementary School. She was known for the way she connected with her students through art, music, and drama, and for her vibrant and engaging bulletin boards and learning activities. Her love of teaching continued even in retirement as she took on the role of Sunday school teacher.
As a young mother she raised her family on values of love and faith. She shared her passion for athletics, her community, and of course, fashion.
Retirement also brought with it a world of adventures – globetrotting, horseback riding, volunteering, and being an active member of the Church Église Liberté Oasis des Nations.
In 2010, Francine was diagnosed with cancer which would become an unrelenting adversary. Reinforced by her faith, she demonstrated extraordinary strength and resilience, and never ceased fighting, inspiring all of those around her.
Francine will be remembered above all for her immense generosity, unwavering faith, and the profound love she had for her children and grandchildren, her husband Denis, and her family and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Saturday August 26, 2023 from 2:00 pm at Grace Presbyterian Church 1220 Old Tenth Line Rd., Orleans. A Celebration of Francine's Life will begin at 3:00 pm.
For those who wish to memorialize Francine, the family asks that you consider a donation to Ottawa Innercity Ministries or the Education Foundation of Ottawa.
