KIERNICKI, Ferdynand (Fred)

1924 - 2022

It is with heartfelt sorrow that our family announces the peaceful passing of Ferdynand (Fred) Kiernicki, on December 17, 2022, at Greater Niagara General Hospital - Niagara Falls Site, with his family by his side.

Fred was predeceased by his daughter Elvira, and his brothers Edward and Adam Kiernicki. He will be forever remembered and greatly missed by his sisters Helena and Krystina Kiernicka in Poland, his loving children Fred (Judy), Roger (Sheri), Lorenz, step-son Rolly (Susan and Mark), daughter-in-law Patricia, his cherished grandchildren Krysta (Donnie), Kayla (Matthew), Kara (Brad), and Dalton (Emma), and great-grandchildren Addison, Grayson, Riley, Sofia, Hazel, Elliah, and Haisley.

Our family would like to send a special thank you to Drs. Rose and Aromolaran for their care and kindness to Fred over the years.

Fred was born in Tlustenkie, Poland in 1924 to Jan Kiernicki and Katarzyna Kiernicka and immigrated to Canada in 1952. He was an exceptional combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important — living a life with those you love. Fred treasured his family and friends and embraced every moment with them. He had a long career as a diamond driller/foreman, working in remote areas all over Canada. He was proud to have travelled around the world, to numerous countries, and loved to watch his favourite hockey team (Toronto) make it to the play-offs. Fred  brought an incredible amount of joy to all whose life he touched. He will be missed by so many who knew and loved him, but none more than his loving family.

Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the Family.

The family received their friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Wednesday, December 28th  from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.  A Funeral Service was held in the Funeral Home Ceremony Room. Burial at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
