EVERETT, Emily Rose

1941 - 2024

  It is with great sadness and much love that we mourn the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. On Thursday November 14th, at the age of 82 years old, surrounded by her loving family at the Kirkland Lake & District hospital, Emily Everett passed away.

Emily was born on December 18th, 1941 and was pre deceased by her father, Walter Carter and mother Irene Carter Rochon, brothers Ronald Carter, and Jimmy Carter.

Emily is survived by her brothers: Albert (Eva) Carter, Raymond (Rachel) Carter, sisters: Dorothy (Rene) Lalonde, Margery Commanda, Teresa Scully, Béatrice (Adrien) Duguay and many nieces and nephews.

Emily met and married her first husband Erich Knies in Noelville On, on April 13th,1959 and had 3 children, Susan (Rich) Favretto, Erich (Mary) Knies, Pre deceased by her daughter Linda Knies, survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She worked many years beside her husband in many family businesses, restaurants, taverns, and motels. She was a very good cook and was well known for her Bread making, Baking and always served the public with a smile.

On October (7th), 1988 she married her second husband Don Everett and gained a beautiful extended family who loved her and she them. They spent many years enjoying the outdoors while fishing, hunting, and spending quality time at their camp on Duncan Lake. Don passed in June 2016, Emily spent the remainder of her years enjoying her many hobbies quilting, knitting, and sewing. Emily also loved a good game of cards and continued her tradition of going to camp. She was loving, generous, independent, and a strong character. A great hostess she was happy to make a meal for anyone who would visit. She will be greatly missed & loved by so many family members & friends. A celebration of life will be held summer of 2025 at Duncan Lake.
