Dorothy Elizabeth Ina Bown (Stevenson) passed away peacefully on January 29th, 2025, in her 101st year.  

Predeceased by her husband, Gordon Edward Bown. She was the very loving and cherished mother of her son, Gordon Steven Roy Bown (Linda), and daughter, Pamela Margaret. She also leaves her brother-in-law, Ronald Husk, her several nephews and their families and many cherished friends.  

Predeceased by her loving parents, Margaret Smith and Newton G. Stevenson and her siblings Theodore (Nancy), Garfield (killed in Holland in 1944), and Marjorie (Ronald).  

Our family would like to extend a special message of love, thanks and appreciation to Patricia Stevenson Smith, Mom’s youngest and dearest cousin, for her caring support to Mom and our family over many years.  

We are also very thankful for Susan and Les Nutbrown and Mary Drew, who have been so very kind, caring and helpful to Mom over the past years.  

A very special thank you to Sandra Klinck and ALL the wonderful and caring nurses, caregivers, staff and volunteers at Grace Village and The Renaissance Manoir St-Francis for their love, compassion, care and kindness throughout Mom’s last years. 

Mom was a very proud Sherbrooke Hospital nursing graduate (Class of 1945) and loved her nursing profession and her many nursing friends and Sherbrooke Hospital alumni.  

Above all else, Mom loved her family and friends and would do anything for them. 

She adored her flower gardens, feeding and watching the birds, and playing a good game of Bridge!
