LOWRY, Curtis
1918 - 2019
Passed away peacefully June 2,2019 at the Grace Village at the age of 100. Curtis was a family doctor in Sawyerville, Quebec for 55 years before his retirement in 2003. Curtis graduated from Bishop’s University as a teacher in 1939 and taught high school for four years before deciding to pursue a degree in medicine which he completed at Laval University in 1948. Curtis was always very interested and involved in politics and current affairs. Curtis had great empathy in the care and well being of others.
Curtis leaves to mourn his wife Hannelore Lind, Dieter (Marie) and grandchildren Ulysses, Rose, Ella, Dagmar; Rainer (Lise); Brigitte and grandchildren Isabella, Jasmine, Maya; Volker and grandchildren Jon and Ryan; Uwe’s son Matthias (Lynette). As well as, Opa to many great grandchildren.
Curtis was the son of the late Henry and Cora (Carrie Pope) Lowry. Father of the late Uwe Lowry and grandfather of the late Hans Lowry. Brother to the late Claud, Clayton, Floyd (Cecil), Clem, Carrie, Claris and Chilston.
Curtis leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Village for the great care given to Curtis, especially to Pauline.
Visitation will be held at the new Sawyerville Community Center at 6 chemin Randboro, Sawyerville Friday June 7,2019 at 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A grave side service will take place at East Clifton Cemetery Saturday June 8,2019 at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Curtis may be made to Grace Village, East Clifton Cemetery or Eaton Cemetery.

Curtis Lowry
I wish to express my deepest sympathies to the family of a very special man. I am 52 years old and I remember going to see ''doctor Lowry'' that we use to call him. My eyes of a child remember a very nice man who would take care of us because we would feel comfortable in his presence. I remember seeing him walking in the village of sawyerville and wave at everyone. He looked like the most important man of the village but you could see that he was a very humble man. I fell like it was a privilege of knowing a man like him.

Je sympathise avec vous Madame Lowry, j'ai de bons souvenirs de votre mari le bon Docteur Curtis Lowry, ce fut mon premier médecin de famille, il était très généreux et toujours présent à son bureau, nous l'avons aimé beaucoup, il venait à domicile pour les enfants, nous garderons un bon souvenir du bon Médecin de Sawyerville.
Je demeure à Rock-Forest depuis 46 ans déjà, je suis la fille de Aimé Bertrand de Sawyerville depuis 1950 et mariée à Réjean Martin en 1959,

Lowry family
Not only did Dr.Lowry deliver me, he was my Dr. all of my formative years.
From the time I was small to when I was an Adult he would always remember my birth date with-in a few days...as a child this always made me feel so special, and as an Adult always left me amazed-Out of the many children he delivered in his life that he could remember my approx. birth dates was so special.
I also remember being very sick once as a child, and my parents driving me to Sawyerville in the middle of the night to see the doctor. It did not matter that he was already in bed and asleep, he opened his office to see us.
Sawyerville, and the World lost a terrific man....but heaven has welcomed a wonderful new angel.

My sincere sympathy to his wife and all family members. He was, as you know, "one of a kind", a true tower of a man. My memories center around the time period of 1950s, mainly, when living in Randboro. He gave of himself all of his exceptionally long life and now he rests peacefully as he so well deserves.
