1959 - 2022

A sudden heart attack took his life, on the job in Sorel, Quebec, on March 28, 2022.

Beloved son of James Dougherty and Betty Allison of Bury. Husband of Jodie Bliss (Wyoming), now of Irisburg, Vermont. Former husband of Johanne Lapoint of Bury. Father of Danny (Coaticook), Catherine (Richmond), Jeremy (Cookshire) and Alexandra (Gaspe). Grandfather of Alyssa and Tyler Gifford, Cyan, Kaïra, Izaak Dougherty, Freya Dougherty. Predeceased by his brother Danny (1981). Mourned by aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Kit enjoyed being Scout Leader of the Bury Scouts. He took them to 3 jamborees: P.E.I., N.B. and Thunder Bay. He was a reliable long-haul truck driver (U.S. and Canada). A knowledgeable mechanic. He drove the last several years for Randy Vintinner’s Brave Transport Inc., Waterville, Quebec.

Kit will be buried in the Bury Cemetery. No visitation due to Covid.

Kit & I went to school together, even if we weren't in contact after high school, his passing comes as a shock, he will be fondly remembered as a kind and gentle person. To all his family and friends, please accept my heart felt condolences. May he rest in peace.
