1963 - 2024

Chantal Roy (nee Bolduc) - It is with a heavy hearts that we announce the departure of our dear Chantal (Tetoune) who passed away on April 4, 2024, at the age of 61, at the Rivière Blanche Health Hospital in Kirkland Lake, ON.

She leaves beautiful memories in the heart of her husband, Marcel Roy; her five children: Patrice Bolduc of Ottawa, Samantha Roy (Mike Rozon) of Larder Lake, Mélanie Roy-Rioux (Alain) of Hearst, Martin Roy and Mélanie Roy-Breton (Mathieu) of Kapuskasing; as well as 11 grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brothers, Alain (Sonia), Yves (Aline) and her uncle Ghislain Colle (late Nanette) who was a second father to Chantal, all from Hearst. 

     Her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; late René (Denise), Michel (Céline), Noël, Lucie (Fern Blais), Lionel (late Pat), late Nicole (Clermont Joncas), Lison (late Denis Roy), Ginette (Ron Nowlan), Francine (Denis Dolbec), Donald (Patricia), Louisette (Jules Dilon) and Gabrielle.

     Chantal was predeceased by her father Désiré Bolduc, her mother Pierrette (née Dufour), her brother Laurier (late Hélène) and her parents-in-law Élias and Gisèle Roy.

     Chantal will be remembered as a woman devoted to her family and loved ones, a woman with a big heart, she was passionate about camping, fishing, hunting, bowling and especially dancing.

     She has worked as a cook and waitress in several local restaurants in her native town of Hearst and at St. Andrew’s gold mine as a security guard, at Garderie Francofleur et Miel and at Sesekinika Lake resort as cook, Larder Lake.

     Marcel would like to sincerely  thank; Sam and Patrice for their support, their help with the necessary care for their mother during the last two weeks of her illness, at home : to the staff of the Larder Lake Health Centre, as well as those of the Blanche River Health Hospital in Kirkland Lake for all the care and assistance for several months: a special thank you to my dear friend Alex Paquette for the good meal served at the Moody Moose restaurant with the children.

From the bottom of our hearts, a big thank you to everyone, family and friends from near and far, for your prayers, your thoughts, your friendship, your words of appeasement, your sympathy and your love during this painful time.

As per Chantal's wishes, there will be no funeral.

Donations may be made in her memory to a Lung Disease Foundation of your choice.
