Morden, Bernice

MORDEN, Bernice

1936 - 2024

Bernice June Morden (Nee Gosnell), 87, of Kirkland Lake, passed away on August 20th 2024 in Kirkland Lake.

Celebration of Life will be held at Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative on Sept 28th at 1:00 - 3:00. All are welcome.

Our loving and devoted mother, Bernice, passed away on August 20th, surrounded by her devoted and loving family. She's now at peace.

Bernice was a life long resident of Kirkland Lake. She never lived anywhere else, nor did she want to. She was a member of the Salvation Army in her youth, following the footsteps of her father who was in the band. She also enjoyed teaching Sunday school at the United church.

Bernice was devoted to help people even then. Bernice worked at the Kirkland Lake Hospital in the lab, and enjoyed each moment working in the lab area.

Bernice gave up the job she loved to raise her four children. She devoted the rest of her life to her children, and their families.

She went to many baseball games, hockey games to watch her children play. She loved to dance and loved music. She enjoyed playing darts and bowling and never bragged about the trophies she won for both. Bernice had a very competitive nature under her quiet demeanour. She loved playing road hockey with her grandchildren and you could see the competition side of her! She played many card games with them, and she just enjoyed just being with them and spending time.

She was passionate about family history and had a special book that held every birthday, anniversary or death of family members going back several generations.

Bernice was predeceased by her mother Irene Pearl Gosnell (Davies), her father Artimus Sidney Gosnell, Her brothers Thomas (Tom), William(Bill), her sister Mabel Nowry and her daughter in law Carole Morden (Boone).

Bernice was also pre-deceased by her grandsons Micheal (Moose) and Nick. Her great grand children, Colton, Emma and Kyria

Bernice talked about how she looked forward to seeing them all again.

Bernice will be missed by her children Bob, Dennis (Joanne, Louise (Ron) and Brian (Michelle). Her Grandchildren Ryan (Samantha), Jennifer, Darcy (Carissa), Kristen (Joe), Donald (Caitlin), Jason (Tara), Adam (Courtney), Erin, Stephanie, Amy and Kenny. She had 32 great grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was such a loving Nanny, Grandma, Mee Maa to all........ She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Doreen Gosnell, her brother-in-law Roy Nowry and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bernice was a strong, loving devoted person who never thought of herself or what she may want. For those and so many other reasons that are too long to list she will be missed.

Memorial donations may be made to Blanche River Hospice & Palliative Care KL & Cancer Society.

The family would like to thank Community Care workers Donna, Tara & Hellen. Also Dr. Zain & Dr. Kurki & all the staff on 4th floor of Kirkland Lake hospital.

Aunt Bernice was one of the kindest people I have ever known. I have such wonderful memories of her watching us as kids, sleepovers, canasta and scrabble games (she was hard to beat) and even when she made the trip out west with Nanny & Gunkka to visit. She was such a bright light in our family and will be so deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Sending all my love xox

Ron & Louise and Morden Family

My name is William Campbell, the son of the Late William Charles Gosnell. I would like to send my deepest Condolences to the family.
If I may share something with all of you. I remember looking for my Kirkland Lake many years ago, since I was apart of the 60s Scoop. Aunt Bernice was the first family member I had found, and she was able to fill in alot of the blanks I had growing up.
She will be missed

May my support
warm your heart
