SÉGUIN, ANITA MARY JEANNINE (NÉE BOWMAN)

June 23, 1932 – July 4, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Anita Séguin (Bowman) at the Gatineau Hospital on July 4, 2022. Daughter of Maynard Bowman and Joséphine Potvin. Born June 23, 1932, Anita had just celebrated her 90th birthday surrounded by family and friends. Anita is survived by her children Paul (Debby Auger), Suzanne (Paul Vachon), Andrew (Louise Meunier) and Raymond (Céline Sévigny).

Loving grandmother to Sara (Allan), André (Lissa), Karly (Zachary), Lora, Cayla (Steve), Jason, Alexandre (Adrianna), Stephanie (Sam) and Émilie (Mathieu). She also had nine beautiful great-grandchildren and was a cherished Granny and Grand-maman Nana to Chloé, Megan, Zoe, Landon, Liam, Greyson, Thomas, Aiden and Madeleine.

Predeceased by her husband Gilbert Séguin, her brother Clayton, her sister Lorna Ann, her granddaughter Lora and her granddaughter Stephanie’s husband, Sam. Anita also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

Anita volunteered tirelessly at Saint-Vincent Hospital for many years, along with contributing to the Parkinson Society of Ottawa. She had boundless energy, joie de vivre, and love for all. She devoted her entire life to caring for her family and friends.

Her passing leaves a hole in our lives but she is now with husband Gib and many, many loved ones who are no doubt whooping it up and maybe even having a little drink together. Our loss is surely their gain. We love you Anita!

A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In Memoriam donations can be made to Parkinson Canada https://www.parkinson.ca/ or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada https://www.heartandstroke.ca/

Rest in peace dear mom…

Anita’s Family

As Anita‘s old family doctor for many years, I was sad to see of her passing. She was one of my favorites. Sincere and composed, always appreciative. A great support for her unstoppable husband, Gib. Swimming, volunteering, being there for her sister, enjoying her children and grandchildren, many of whom I knew.

I recently came across an engraved keychain that she gave me when I retired. I smiled, and was reminded of her thoughtfulness.

I’m sure she will be missed ;sincere condolences to the family
