HUSK (NÉE HARRISON), Amy Isabel

1925 - 2023

Amy Isabel Husk passed away on October 17, 2023, at the age of 98, in Richmond, QC., with her loving husband Ronald J. Husk nearby.

Amy enjoyed a long and happy life, born and raised on Hardwood Flat, near Bury, QC., daughter of James Douglas and Isabel May (Cameron) Harrison. She was predeceased by her brothers and sister: Argyle and Cameron - Hong Kong Royal Rifles, Donald Harrison, her sidekick Peggy Stretch, and Garth Harrison.

Amy had a long and fulfilling career as a nurse at the Sherbrooke Hospital, where she was beloved by her patients and made lasting friendships with her fellow nurses.

She married Byrl Webster in 1951 and eventually made their home on Spring Road, just outside of Lennoxville, where Byrl passed away in 1979.  Amy is survived by her children, Harrison (Siobhan), Christina, James, and Robert (Jackie); grandchildren, William (Kate), Stephanie, Noah, Thomas, Monet, Zachary, Eden, and Taryn; great-grandchildren, Francis, and Penny.

Amy married Ronald J. Husk in 1988 and shared 35 wonderful years together. They moved into the Wales Home in 2021. She is also survived by Ron’s sons, Brian (Wilma), Barry (Joan), and Peter (Hélène), his grandchildren, Jennifer (Patrick), John (Andréanne), Jessica (Nicolas), and his great-grandchildren, Emily, Liam, Margot and Roman. Ron and his family have taken the best care of Amy, and her children are incredibly grateful.

Amy loved reading, gardening, sewing, entertaining, and dancing. She will be lovingly remembered and missed greatly.

A celebration of her life will be planned for the summer of 2024.

Ron and family

Sending my love and my deepest sympathy to Ron and his family. Amy was a very special lady who was loved by all. At the hospital I always enjoyed working with her and learning from her. She was caring both to her patients and her co workers and was referred to as “ mother “ by many. Over the years Amy hosted countless get- together ( skiing parties, retirement and Xmas parties, luncheons, teas etc.) She was forever opening her home to so many. I will also always remember what a particularly good friend she was to my mother. She will be sadly missed. Rest in peace Amy ️

All the families

Amy, such a grand lady! She was one of a kind. As Woody, our evening orderly, would say, " When God made her, he threw away the mould ". She was a loving person to work with, to talk with and just be in her company. She was a super nurse and a great teacher. I shall never forget her and her beautiful smile. Lauraine xx
